March 2014

We very nearly made that most fateful of errors in going a whole month without taking a single photo. I know ... such busy lives and yet not even taking the trouble to capture things for posterity.
Fortunately, an 11th hour opportunity presented itself as the kids were invited to join our friends Linda and Richard for a visit to Milestones Museum in Basingstoke where a Lego 'Lost World' Zoo had been set up amongst the normal exhibits. We used the opportunity to have a couple of hours of nag-free shopping so weren't even responsible for taking the photos. Most of these are Cassandra's efforts...

What was neat was that the majority of the models were actual size - which meant that some of the more exotic creatures like the Giant Moa or Sabre-Toothed Tiger (above) took up quite a bit of space.

There were even giant turtles and plants - including this enormous cactus...

...as well as more modern butterflies and birds.

Some things were quite dinky though, like this tiny fossil bed, but it was all quite interesting.

Suffice it to say, all four of them had a good time .. especially as there was a gift shop at the end and all four of them picked up souvenirs. Lego, of course.
